FORMER CEO · TWO EXITS · CONSTRUCTION & FACILITY SERVICES

Alejandra Harvey

About

I built my first construction company from zero to $17.5 million in revenue before selling to private equity for $20 million. I then grew a second company from $23 million to $85 million over three years, navigating complex private equity partnerships and managing field operations across multiple states.

Both companies were in highway and street painting and exterior facility maintenance — industries where I was consistently the only woman in the room. I learned to build credibility through competence, not performance.

In May 2024, I exited my second company. Not because it was failing, but because I was. After years of high-stakes leadership while solo parenting my daughter, I recognized the cost of operating in constant survival mode.

I'm now managing commercial real estate investments in Denver, writing a book about what no one tells you about founder burnout and sustainable scale, and thinking critically about what I want to build next — and how.

What I'm Doing Now

I'm in a deliberate recovery and exploration phase. I'm managing a commercial real estate portfolio in Denver, including rental properties and a commercial property. I'm 100 pages into writing a book that documents the lessons I learned the hard way — about burnout, sustainable scale, what success actually costs, and what I'd do differently.

I'm also fielding partnership and consulting opportunities, but being selective. I've proven I can build companies and navigate exits. What I'm interested in now is doing it differently — with intention, sustainability, and without sacrificing the things that matter.
